Ryley Derrick, fourth grader at our White Station lower school, is spearheading a project to make an Easter Egg Hunt a lot of fun for children who are served by AGAPE's FIT program. Last year, she collected candy-filled eggs at her school. This year, she is asking ALL Harding students to participate. Wouldn't it be great to have 100% participation? All you have to do is fill 6 plastic eggs with candy (no chocolate or nuts), tape them closed, and bring them to school. Ryley is the daughter of head football coach Ryan Derrick and Mrs. Kelley Derrick who teaches at White Station.
April 17 marks the midway point in this final quarter of the year. In just two weeks, we will be at the half-way mark. While students in grades 7, 9, 10, and 11 have about 5 weeks left, seniors (who graduate early) and eighth graders (who go to Washington) have only about four. These four or five weeks will be fraught with interruptions and special occasions such as achievement tests, holidays, programs, and events such as Awards Day. It is important for every student to be present every day and for each student to do his or her best work. There is no time to waste! CResurrection Week is April 14-17. We will have chapel every day. Wednesday's chapel (April 16) is our traditional Spiritual Mentors Chapel. Your students will have the opportunity to invite someone whom they consider a spiritual mentor to come to chapel with them that day. This person could be a minister, a youth minister, a Sunday school teacher, small group leader, pastor, elder, coach, or any other kind of spiritual mentor. Please encourage your student to invite someone. Most of our students will have someone here as a guest that day. Friday, April 18, and Monday, April 21 are school holidays.
