Juniors and sophomores will take the PSAT (Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test) on the Wednesday morning following fall break (Octobr 15). For juniors it is this test that determines National Merit honors. For sophomores, the PSAT is practice.
Students will be taking this test in classrooms this year. This plan is a departure from the usual practice of taking standardized tests in the auditorium. We hope students will benefit from being in a smaller setting with better lighting.
Make sure your junior or sophomore gets plenty of sleep the night before, eats a good breakfast (with protein), and comes armed with two #2 pencils—sharpened, of course.
