If you do not have your PowerSchool login, call Mrs. Linda Gregory at 767-4949. Parents, if you use your student's login, you will not be able to see everything you need to see. Please make sure you are using your Parent Login. Have you noticed that your seventh or eighth grader is not lugging around a science textbook? That is because Harding Academy has adopted Discovery Education science for grades K–8. Discover Ed. offers inquiry-based, hands-on, experiential learning. Click here for information about how Discovery Science works. I think you'll be pleased. All parents and guardians of students in 7–12 are invited to Meet the Teacher Night this coming Monday. The festivities begin with a 6:00–6:45 time of fellowship and information in the cafeteria (elementary gym). You will be able to pick up information you need, enjoy some refreshments, watch some Harding videos, and visit with fellow parents. Please notice that this is a night for parents and guardians only. Students should not be at school for Meet the Teacher night. Click to open this document that gives basic information about the upper school Meet the Teacher Night.

April 17 marks the midway point in this final quarter of the year. In just two weeks, we will be at the half-way mark. While students in grades 7, 9, 10, and 11 have about 5 weeks left, seniors (who graduate early) and eighth graders (who go to Washington) have only about four. These four or five weeks will be fraught with interruptions and special occasions such as achievement tests, holidays, programs, and events such as Awards Day. It is important for every student to be present every day and for each student to do his or her best work. There is no time to waste! This project will raise funds to buy a stoneware kiln for our students to make professional, dinnerware and oven safe Seventh grade schedule
Schedule for everyone else
The reenrollment deadline was January 21, but it's not too late. Sometimes parents send the enrollment packet to school with a student, and then the packet gets buried in the locker or backpack. Or maybe it never made it off your kitchen table. I'm just encouraging you to make sure your students are enrolled for next year. We want to have space and class choices available to them, and the numbers we get from accurate enrollment are vital to our planning process. If you have questions or concerns about reenrolling, I would be very happy to talk with you (767-4949/office, 359-4546/cell). Mr. Gray Yates, director of admissions would also be glad to talk with you (767-4494). |
