We are excited to partner this year with other private schools in the area to offer Memphis Area Case Studies. This program allows students to learn more about the selective college admission process as admission counselors from colleges around the country lead students and parents in a mock admission committee. This case study discussion provides the opportunity to evaluate transcripts, test scores, essays, and more as the "big decision" is placed in your hands! The Memphis Area Case Studies program is scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 1:00 p.m.–3:00 p.m. at the University of Memphis. The event will begin with the case study and conclude with a mini college fair. Students and parents must register at www.macsmemphis.org to participate.
We have two exciting events planned for junior parents and students to kick off the official beginning of the college application process on April 28.
College Kick-off Day for Juniors 12:00 p.m.–2:35 p.m. After the students take the ACT in the morning, we have a special program in the afternoon planned to educate them about the college application process. Students will enjoy a lunch provided by the counseling office and then hear from a panel of four college representatives about the different steps in the college application process. The program will conclude with break-out sessions with the representatives designed to help students learn more about particular college-related topics. College Planning Night for Parents 6:30 p.m.–8:30 p.m This is an educational night for junior parents to learn about the steps in the college planning process. A panel of college representatives will explain the process at different types of universities. Mrs. Banker will present on other college-related topics. This meeting will be held in the library. Harding is participating in ACT's District Choice Testing Program for the first time this year. Juniors will take the ACT at school on Tuesday, April 28, 7:45 a.m.–12:00 p.m. Students do not need to go to ACT's website to register for this test. A test has been ordered for each junior, as we are expecting every junior to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity.
Here is information that will be made available to your students. These four documents should tell you everything you need to know about how semester examinations operate.
